The Chiang Rai Temples and Tribes tour in English is an excellent choice for those who wish to explore the most impressive temples in northern Thailand and understand how art blends with tradition and culture to create unique architecture.

Accompanied by a fluent English-speaking guide dedicated to your group, you will learn how Buddhism and art connect to the contemporary and the modern.

In addition to the temples, the tour includes a visit to the Karen Long Neck Tribe, an ethnic group originally from the interior of Myanmar that has been living in villages in northern Thailand for over 40 years. Our Complete Experience - Private Tour Chiang Rai Temples and Tribes in English

White Temple – Wat Rong Khun

Considered one of the most beautiful temples in Thailand, the White Temple impresses with itscontemporary architecture and deep symbolism.

Designed by the renowned artist Chalermchai Kositpipat, famous for his extravagant and unique Buddhist paintings, Wat Rong Khun reflects his grand visions of heaven, hell, and Nirvana. The interior of the temple features hand-drawn designs by the artist Chalermchai Kositpipat, representing significant events from the Western world, drawings, famous public figures, and many references from the last 20 years.

Although open to the public, this is a private temple, which has been 100% renovated by the artist who invested over 40 million Baht. The temple is located within a large complex, and you will be able to visit other parts designed by the artist during your time there.

Blue Temple – Wat Rong Seur Ten

A unique temple, famous for its vibrant blue murals and sculptures. The Blue Temple was designed by the artist Phuttha Kabkaew, a disciple of Chalermchai Kositpipat (the artist of the White Temple), and its psychedelic architecture closely resembles the style of the White Temple.

The temple is painted in a striking blue with golden and white details. Its interior and exterior feature impressive details, making it one of the most photogenic temples in Chiang Rai.

On the outside of Wat Rong Seur Ten, there are several stalls selling souvenirs and snacks. Two of them stand out for offering the famous blue ice cream, a coconut ice cream with blue sticky rice, served in a coconut shell and decorated with jasmine flowers. It is also possible to try naturally dyed coconut ice cream with the blue from jasmine flowers.

Karen Long Neck Tribe

Still on the Chiang Rai Temples and Tribes tour in English, we will visit the Karen Tribe, popularly known as the Long Neck Women Tribe. The tribe migrated forcibly from Burma (Myanmar) over 40 years ago and settled in Thailand. Within the tribes, there are several ethnicities, and the women who wear brass rings on their necks are one of them.

This tradition carries many cultural meanings that you will learn about from the guide during the visit. Today, the communities sustain themselves through the sale of handicrafts and agriculture, making the visit important for them.

A Charming Stop at Lalita Café (from March to October)

Tours from March to October include a stop at the charming Lalita Café, a themed café known for its stunning architecture and relaxing atmosphere. Surrounded by enchanting gardens and a fairy-tale setting, the place is perfect for a coffee or tea break, as well as offering various dessert and drink options. A special moment to capture amazing photos in one of the most photogenic cafés in Chiang Rai.

The visit to Lalita takes place from March to October.

👕 What to wear for the tour

It is mandatory to keep shoulders and knees covered to enter the temples.

✅ We recommend wearing t-shirts or blouses with sleeves, long dresses, long pants, or skirts below the knees. Light and comfortable clothing, preferably in fabrics like cotton and linen.

❌ Sleeveless clothing, tank tops, shorts, short skirts, or items that leave shoulders or knees exposed may prevent access to attractions.

Wear easy-to-remove shoes, as it will be necessary to take them off in some temples.

We recommend a hat, sunscreen and sunglasses for protection against the sun.

In Thailand, many establishments accept cash only. We recommend bringing baht (THB) if you wish to buy drinks, souvenirs, or extra items during the tour.

Requests for rescheduling made at least 72 hours in advance can be accommodated at no additional cost, subject to availability. If there are no spots available for the same schedule and language, our team may offer compatible alternatives, including other dates, programs, or available languages.

Requests made with 48 hours or less notice, including changes, cancellations, or rescheduling, will not be entitled to a refund, rescheduling, credit, or financial compensation.

Failure to appear at the meeting point at the indicated time, as well as missing the pick-up due to delay, will be considered no show, with no right to refund, rescheduling, credit for another tour, or financial compensation. In such cases, it will not be possible to request that the guide wait, arrange another meeting point, or join the tour after the activities have started.

▶ Rain does not constitute a cancellation condition

The occurrence of rain does not constitute a cancellation condition. Thailand has a tropical climate, and it is common for quick rains to occur throughout the day, especially during the monsoon season. Tours continue to operate normally in case of rain, as long as safety conditions allow for their execution.

▶ Maritime Tours

Maritime operations follow exclusively the daily assessments of the Thai Navy, which is responsible for issuing official guidance on navigation, safety, and sea stability. Only in the case of a formal alert regarding adverse maritime conditions may the tour be suspended, altered, or rescheduled.

The occurrence of rain at the hotel, in the departure city, or during part of the route does not necessarily mean that the tour will be canceled. Weather conditions can vary significantly between regions, islands, and maritime areas.

Tours are subject to the operational and safety conditions defined by the local operator responsible for the activity. In case of changes, interruptions, or non-continuation of the tour, the applicable guidance and procedures will be communicated directly by the responsible team on-site.

If there is an official determination that prevents the departure of vessels, our team will contact you to inform you of the applicable procedures. In case of cancellation by the operator (e.g., operational issues or force majeure), a full refund or rescheduling at no additional cost will be offered.

People with mobility limitations must inform us in advance before booking. Some boat tours may not be recommended or permitted, according to the rules and operational conditions of the companies responsible for navigation and boarding.

For safety reasons and according to the rules of local operators, pregnant women and people over 70 years old cannot participate in tours conducted on speedboats.

▶ Holiday Dates and Refund Conditions

New Year's Eve, Valentine's Day, Chinese New Year, and Lantern Festival do not have refunds, even in the case of full payment.

Other dates may be included according to the local calendar. In cases that fall under these exceptions, there will be no refund.

Additionally, attractions, temples, monuments, parks, and visitation areas may have access limited, suspended, or altered by local authorities without prior notice due to religious ceremonies, official events, celebrations, visits from authorities, weather conditions, or other occurrences beyond the agency's control.

In these situations, our team may make adaptations to the itinerary, change the order of visits, or propose compatible alternatives, always seeking to preserve the best possible experience for participants.

▶ Participant Conduct

The company reserves the right to remove from the tour any participant who displays inappropriate, offensive, aggressive behavior, jeopardizes the safety of the group, or disregards the team's instructions. In such cases, there will be no refund of the amounts paid.

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please contact our team via WhatsApp.

The prices available on the website are subject to change without prior notice. Changes made by the team may take up to 1 hour to be reflected on the website.

Despite efforts to keep prices and information updated, material errors, registration errors, or systemic failures may occur.
