Doi Suthep – The Sacred Temple of Chiang Mai
Located on top of a mountain, Wat Phra That Doi Suthep is one of the most sacred temples in Thailand and one of the postcards of Chiang Mai. With an incredible panoramic view of the city, you can observe Chiang Mai from above and better understand the history behind this temple.
Within the complex, it is common to see monks blessing visitors, as well as many Thais praying and participating in rituals. During the visit, you will see the Buddha statues that represent each day of the week, each in a different position. The guide will tell you the meaning of each one, as well as explain why this temple is so special to the Thais.
The experience at Doi Suthep combines history, culture, and spirituality in a unique way, and is often one of the most memorable moments of the tour in Chiang Mai.
Wat Chedi Luang
One of the most important temples in Chiang Mai, built over 630 years ago, Wat Chedi Luang once stood 98 meters tall with a base of 54 meters, but suffered damage after an earthquake hit the city in 1545. It was also home to the Emerald Buddha (the same one you can see on the temple tour in Bangkok during the visit to the Grand Palace) for over 100 years.
The Chedi Luang is located in a large complex and features a café, monk school, and a conversation area with monks, where you can learn more about Buddhism in a light and respectful manner.
Wat Phra Sing
This temple is located in the old town centre of Chiang Mai and houses one of the most revered Buddha images in northern Thailand, Phra Phutthasihing, in the Lanna style. The complex also has schools and communal spaces for the community.
Major religious events and important ceremonies take place at Wat Phra Sing during the Thai New Year, which occurs in April, between the 13th and 15th. The community organizes to wash the Phra Phutthasihing statue in a beautiful procession through the main streets of Chiang Mai.

Wat Umong
Unlike traditional temples, Wat Umong is located within a forest and is famous for its tunnels built for meditation practice. U-Mong is over 600 years old and is a temple that welcomes visitors who want to learn more deeply about meditation and understand how these spaces were shaped over 600 years ago for the ancient practice of meditation.
Like most temples, Wat Umong is a large complex, and you can even feed fish in a river that crosses the inner part of the temple.

👕 What to wear for the tour
It is mandatory to keep shoulders and knees covered for entry into the temples.
✅ We recommend wearing t-shirts or blouses with sleeves, long dresses, long pants, or skirts below the knees. Light and comfortable clothing, preferably in fabrics like cotton and linen.
❌ Sleeveless clothing, tank tops, shorts, short skirts, or items that expose shoulders or knees may prevent access to attractions.
Wear easy-to-remove shoes, as it will be necessary to take them off in some temples.
We recommend hats, sunscreen, and sunglasses for sun protection.
In Thailand, many establishments accept cash only. We recommend bringing baht (THB) if you wish to buy drinks, souvenirs, or extra items during the tour.

📋 Cancellation policy
▶ For reservation confirmation payments (deposits):
Amounts paid to secure the reservation are non-refundable in case of cancellation by the customer.
▶ For full advance payments:
Cancellations made up to 7 days in advance will receive a 90% refund of the amount paid.
▶ Rescheduling
Requests for rescheduling made at least 72 hours in advance will be accommodated at no additional cost, subject to availability. If there are no spots for the same schedule and language, our team may offer compatible alternatives, including other dates, programs, or available languages.
Requests made with 48 hours or less notice, including changes, cancellations, or rescheduling, will not be entitled to a refund, rescheduling, credit, or financial compensation.
▶ No Show
Failure to appear at the meeting point at the indicated time, as well as missing the boarding due to delay, will be considered no show, without the right to a refund, rescheduling, credit for another tour, or financial compensation. In these cases, it will not be possible to request that the guide wait, arrange another meeting point, or join the tour after the activities have started.
▶ Rain does not constitute a cancellation condition
The occurrence of rain does not constitute a cancellation condition. Thailand has a tropical climate, and it is common for quick rains to occur throughout the day, especially during the monsoon season. Tours continue to operate normally in case of rain, as long as safety conditions allow for their execution.
▶ Maritime Tours
Maritime operations follow exclusively the daily assessments of the Thai Navy, responsible for issuing official guidelines on navigation, safety, and sea stability. Only in the case of a formal alert regarding adverse maritime conditions may the tour be suspended, altered, or rescheduled.
The occurrence of rain at the hotel, in the departure city, or during part of the journey does not necessarily mean that the tour will be canceled. Weather conditions can vary significantly between regions, islands, and maritime areas.
Tours are subject to the operational and safety conditions defined by the local operator responsible for the activity. In case of changes, interruptions, or non-continuation of the tour, the applicable guidelines and procedures will be communicated directly by the responsible team on site.
If there is an official determination that prevents the departure of vessels, our team will contact you to inform you of the applicable procedures. In case of cancellation by the operator (e.g., operational issues or force majeure), a full refund or rescheduling at no additional cost will be offered.
People with mobility limitations must inform us in advance before booking. Some boat tours may not be recommended or permitted, according to the rules and operational conditions of the companies responsible for navigation and boarding.
For safety reasons and according to the rules of local operators, pregnant women and people over 70 years old cannot participate in tours conducted on speedboats.
▶ Holiday Dates and Refund Conditions
New Year's Eve, Valentine's Day, Chinese New Year, and Lantern Festival do not have refunds, even in the case of full payment.
Other dates may be included according to the local calendar. In cases that fall under these exceptions, there will be no refund.
Additionally, attractions, temples, monuments, parks, and visitation areas may have access limited, suspended, or altered by local authorities without prior notice due to religious ceremonies, official events, celebrations, visits from authorities, weather conditions, or other occurrences beyond the agency's control.
In these situations, our team may make adjustments to the itinerary, change the order of visits, or propose compatible alternatives, always seeking to preserve the best possible experience for participants.
▶ Participant Conduct
The company reserves the right to remove from the tour any participant who displays inappropriate, offensive, aggressive behavior, jeopardizes the safety of the group, or disregards the team's guidelines. In such cases, there will be no refund of the amounts paid.
